Del Norte Library Foundation

The Del Norte Library Foundation was established in 1983 based on the belief that a strong public library is necessary for the well being of our community.  Citizens should have access to books and materials, facilities and services that enhance their day-to-day living as well as their academic and intellectual needs.

In this spirit, the Del Norte Library Foundation supports the Library District's efforts to secure more stable and sustainable funding.  The Foundation provides an opportunithy for citizens to contribute to a core fund, the income of which is used to purchase books, equipment and facility maintenance.  Due to the downturn in the economy, our investments did not yield enough for us to be able to make contributions to the Library during the past year.  We desperately need to build our core balance.

We would like the community to know that donations to the Foundation are very welcome.  With anticipated cuts in many budget areas, the Library needs our help now more than ever.  In spite of the economic downturn, we hope that you will be able to make a permanent investment in the quality of life in Del Norte County by contributing to the fund.
